Inverness Police Department
Hi, my name is Kyle Ingebrigtsen and I am your Chief of Police. I would like to welcome you to our department’s web site where you will find some useful links. The Inverness Police Department has a staff of 13 full time professional police officers, one (1) part time detective and two (2) administrative assistants. Collectively, the department boasts over 400 years of police experience. Since our inception in 2009, we have prided ourselves on delivering the best quality service to our residents and visitors. The Inverness Police Department adheres to a community oriented policing philosophy where we work with residents to identify and solve issues. We maintain a level of visibility in our neighborhoods and on our streets in order to deter criminal activity and promote security. We encourage our residents to call 911 whenever they need any police response, whether it is a service call or something more serious. The department is involved in the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System (both the Emergency Services Team and Mobil Field Force) and the Major Case Assistance Investigative and Crash Teams should matters arise within the village that require additional assistance.
The Inverness Police Department offers several services for our residents. First, we have a vacation watch program. Whether you are leaving on a short vacation or for an extended period of time, please take advantage of this service. Simply click on the link on this page, stop in at the department or give us a call and we will get you set up for the watch. One of our officers will check on your residence daily throughout the duration of your absence. Second, if you are having a gathering and anticipate that it may get a bit loud please submit an amplified music permit for your event. This lets us know in the event of any neighborhood issues that result from the noise. The department also offers loaner no parking signs for your events at home. There is also a link with instructions on how to obtain a copy of your traffic crash report. Should you need any assistance with any of the above, do not hesitate to call us.
Together we are a team, and our goal is to keep you, your family and your neighborhood safe through the delivery of world class policing services.
